Slurries typically act similarly to thick, viscous fluids, flowing under gravity but also being pumped as necessary. Slurries can be classified as either non-settling or settling in general.

Slurry pumps are made of specialized materials enabling it to withstand extensive wear. It handles liquid mixed with solid particles such as sand, copper, gravel, etc. and solvents like alcohols and acid.
