Kingda pump group

Vertical Sump Pump

The Kingda vertical sump pump is constructed from highly wear-resistant metal, meeting the requirements for conveying abrasive and corrosive fluids. Even fluids containing large particles or long fibers can be easily handled by the Kingda sump pump.

The KSS vertical sump pump is equipped with a filter at the suction inlet, which filters out any solids or fibers that could clog the sump pump, ensuring no clogging occurs, reducing maintenance frequency, and minimizing operating costs.

KSS Industrial Vertical Sump Pumps

The KSS vertical long shaft sump pump is a vertically mounted centrifugal slurry pump. The pump can be fully submerged in water for operation, allowing it to reach the bottom of the pool, which undoubtedly improves pumping efficiency. The motor is mounted at the top, which facilitates maintenance and reduces labor costs.

The industrial vertical sump pump eliminates the need for shaft seals and sealing water devices, avoiding downtime caused by leaks. Our engineers have redesigned the impeller and flow channels for conveying large particles and fibrous slurries, achieving clogging-free operation by increasing blade size and optimizing the hydraulic performance of the flow channels.

The wet end parts of KSS vertical slurry sump pumps can be made from high-chromium alloys, ductile iron, rubber, stainless steel, etc., depending on the medium being pumped. This variety of material options maximizes the service life of wear-prone parts, reducing downtime and significantly lowering user operating costs.

For deeper liquid levels, the KSS vertical pump can be upgraded with a guide bearing structure to improve operational smoothness and extend the pump’s length, thus expanding its application range.

Industrial-Vertical-Sump-Pumps

The KSS vertical pump features a heavy-duty design, capable of handling the most demanding operating conditions, easily transporting highly abrasive mud or corrosive sulfur.

Its compact design saves valuable working space, and the precision-machined submersible parts can operate underwater for extended periods without corrosion, significantly extending the pump’s service life.

Vertical sump pumps are widely used in mining dewatering, wastewater collection pits, petrochemicals, irrigation, and industrial wastewater treatment.

Why Choose Kingda Vertical Centrifugal Sump Pumps

Common Problems with Ordinary Vertical Centrifugal Sump Pumps

Frequent Clogging

The suction inlet or impeller of a typical sump pump is frequently clogged by solid particles or long fibers, leading to blockages and potentially burning out the motor.

Rapid Wear

When handling abrasive or corrosive fluids, ordinary metal materials struggle to resist corrosion over extended periods, significantly reducing the lifespan of the pump shaft and impeller.

Difficult Maintenance

The interchangeability of parts for typical vertical sump pumps is poor, differing greatly from the standards of common horizontal pumps, and frequent maintenance is required, resulting in significantly increased downtime.

Difficult Level Control

Traditional vertical sump pumps may lack level sensors or have unreliable sensors, causing frequent motor restarts, which can easily lead to short circuits on the circuit board and even motor burnout.

Clog-Free

The KSS series sump pump features a bottom-mounted filter with an internal agitator, easily pumping even thick sediment layers and long fibers from the bottom of the pool.

Extremely Wear-Resistant

Wear-resistant components of the Kingda vertical sump pump, such as the impeller, are made of ultra-wear-resistant high-chromium alloy. The passivation film on the metal surface minimizes solid abrasion on the pump.

Easy Maintenance

The wear parts of the KSS vertical sump pump adhere to the same standards as those of common horizontal pumps, allowing for quick replacement with engineer recommendations.

Float Switch

The Kingda sump pump is equipped with a float switch and an internal reliable and sensitive level sensor, enabling automatic start and stop based on the liquid level. This prevents motor short circuits or corrosion caused by frequent pump start-stop cycles.

Applications of Vertical Sump Pump

Mining

In the mining industry, vertical sump pumps can easily transport abrasive slurries, from crusher slurry conveying and grinding mill discharge to tailings and slag transport.

Petrochemicals

Production processes in the petrochemical field generate large amounts of chemical wastewater, acid and alkali solutions, and oily slurries. Abrasion- and corrosion-resistant vertical sump pumps can pump materials stably and continuously over long periods.

Sand Washing Plants

Wastewater ponds and sedimentation tanks in sand washing plants contain large amounts of solid particles and slurry. This wastewater needs to be discharged from the ponds promptly. KSS vertical sump pumps can quickly process settled slurry without clogging.

Wastewater treatment

Vertical sump pumps can handle most industrial wastewater, including domestic sewage treatment, power plant circulating water, and paper mill pulp pumping. They can also handle abrasive and corrosive wastewater.

Applications-of-Vertical-Sump-Pump

The Kingda sump pump features a heavy-duty one-piece shaft design and a robust, monolithic housing. A filter at the pump inlet effectively reduces the risk of clogging.

The vertical sump pump can also be equipped with a float switch, which automatically starts and stops based on liquid level, minimizing labor costs.

Standardized parts are interchangeable with commonly used horizontal pump components, simplifying maintenance and significantly reducing user parts inventory costs, enabling real-time replacement.

FAQ

Structurally, a vertical sump pump has its pump head submerged in the liquid, with the motor positioned above the liquid level. A submersible pump, on the other hand, has a single integrated motor and pump unit, requiring the entire pump to be submerged during operation.

Because the motor of a vertical pump is always exposed to air, while the motor of a submersible pump is always submerged in liquid, the vertical pump is easier to maintain, and the open airflow allows for better motor cooling, resulting in a longer lifespan. However, the submersible pump is quieter than the vertical pump.

However, vertical sump pumps require large support structures for installation, meaning more space and manpower are needed. The compact design of the submersible pump saves space and is suitable for confined spaces.

A vertical float switch is a device that automatically starts and stops the pump based on the liquid level. It starts and stops the motor according to high and low liquid level warning lines.

Adjusting the vertical float:

Turn off the power.

Adjust the cable length.

Near the float, there is a counterweight module on the cable. This module adjusts the float's floating angle. Moving the counterweight closer to the float shortens the cable's free length, lowering the starting liquid level and causing the pump to start earlier.

Moving the counterweight away from the float increases the cable length, raising the starting liquid level and causing the pump to start later.

Testing the float:

Turn on the power and manually raise the float at the wellhead to check if the start/stop switch is triggered.
