Corrosion Consideration
High-grade high-chromium alloys have good corrosion resistance
Chemical substances with a pH value of 2-14
Main Limitation
Not suitable for all corrosive chemical liquids
Affected by medium concentration, particle size and temperature

KSH Design Features for Abrasive Slurry Service

Double-Casing Construction

The KSH heavy-duty slurry pump features a dual-casing structure: an inner liner provides abrasion resistance, while the outer casing withstands the internal pressure. This design makes the inner liner easier to replace when worn, and different materials can be used depending on the medium being pumped.

Replaceable Wet-End Wear Parts

The KSH heavy-duty pump features a split-type casing design, making disassembly and assembly easier and allowing for quick replacement of easily worn parts such as volute liner and impeller.

Impeller and Hydraulic Passage Options

Kingda engineers optimized the flow channel and impeller design through fluid analysis, greatly increasing the solid throughput capacity of the KSH heavy-duty slurry pump and effectively preventing clogging.

Shaft Seal Options

We offer a variety of shaft sealing solutions, including packing, expeller, and mechanical seal. You can choose the appropriate shaft sealing solution based on different working conditions and media to avoid equipment damage caused by leakage.

Bearing and Drive Arrangements

Bearing features a modular bracket for easy maintenance and offers both grease and oil lubrication options. Drive options include direct drive and belt drive, allowing selection of the appropriate solution based on actual operating requirements.

KSH Project Applications

Hydrocyclone Feed Application

This is an iron ore mine located in the Russian Far East. The mining group uses Kingda R250KSH pumps as cyclone feed pumps in its hydrocyclones.

Our maintenance engineers conducted routine inspections of the pumps after 2 months and 12 months of use, respectively, and found that the pump’s rubber lining and impeller showed almost no wear.

Mill Discharge Application

A South African iron ore mine requires the conveying of hard, large-diameter solid particles during its grinding and classification processes. These sharp-shaped gravels pose a significant challenge to the mill discharge pump‘s wear resistance and reliability.

Our engineers addressed this issue by using high-chromium alloy materials for the volute and impeller, effectively reducing maintenance frequency, improving efficiency, and maximizing service life.

FAQ

The wet end parts of the slurry pump are made of wear-resistant and corrosion-resistant materials, and combined with a robust heavy-duty structure and excellent impeller and flow channel design, enabling the slurry pump to stably deliver slurry under harsh working conditions.

Pump selection should focus on providing the following information: flow rate and head, slurry density and concentration, particle size and shape, temperature and pH, piping system, suction conditions, installation altitude, sealing requirements, and drive method. Generally, when our engineers assist customers with pump selection online, the more complete the data provided, the more accurate the pump model will be.

Pump curves are typically tested using clean water as the medium. However, in actual applications, slurry contains more solids and has a higher density than clean water. Pumping slurry often carries risks such as settling, clogging, and wear. Therefore, when using pump curves for pump selection, slurry corrections must be made and adjustments made according to the actual working conditions.

The size of solids that KSH can pass through is affected by many factors, including particle shape and hardness, concentration, impeller channel, inlet size, pipe size, bends, etc. It cannot be judged solely based on the outlet diameter or the maximum particle size of a single model.

The selection of a shaft seal should be based on multiple factors, such as positive pressure value, pressure fluctuation, slurry concentration, particle size, temperature, whether flushing water is allowed, leakage limitation, maintenance capability, and compatibility of sealing materials, rather than solely on positive pressure conditions or media.

When inspecting linings or component gaps, the machine should be stopped first. Visual inspection can be used to check for changes in gaps, thinning, or cracks. The need for replacement should also be determined based on whether performance changes occur.

There is no fixed replacement schedule for pump spare parts. As the particle size and concentration of the slurry change, the degree of wear will also change, requiring regular inspections.
