Project Background and Construction Conditions
The Guangnan Metro project involved deep shaft excavation under challenging geological and operational conditions.
The tunnel extends 4,316 m with a 0.3% uphill grade, and the launching shaft reaches approximately 90 m deep. Surrounding geology consists primarily of abrasive sandstone, imposing high wear risks on pumping equipment.
Ensuring reliable high-pressure slurry transport was essential for maintaining excavation efficiency and protecting equipment.

The project presented three critical hydraulic and operational challenges:
- Long tunnel section with uphill grade requiring high-pressure transport
- Deep launching shaft (~90 m) with peak working pressure of 8 bar
- Abrasive sandstone causing severe wear on pumps
The pumping system had to maintain stable flow, resist continuous high-pressure operation, and handle abrasive slurry to support tunnel excavation and sediment circulation.
Kingda 300SGHP High-Pressure Slurry Pump

Kingda supplied a customized 300SGHP High-Pressure Slurry Pump system to meet the site requirements. Key engineering solutions included:
- Reinforced pump body for improved pressure tolerance and abrasion resistance
- Single pump flow rate of 2,100–3,000 m³/h and single-stage head of 50–70 m
- Multi-pump series configuration to achieve long-distance, high-head slurry transport
- Hydraulic performance optimization to match excavation slurry circulation and cutter suction requirements
During operation, the system efficiently conveyed abrasive tunnel slurry from the deep shaft to surface discharge points, maintaining steady flow and minimizing maintenance interruptions.
Project Performance Observed
Field operation demonstrated robust and stable pump performance:
- Continuous high-pressure slurry transport from the 90 m deep shaft
- Stable operation under abrasive conditions with reduced wear
- Efficient tunnel boring and sediment circulation, minimizing downtime
- Reliable performance across multi-pump series configuration
Supported safe and timely completion of deep shaft construction
